This
480,000 square meter mixed-use development includes
70,000 square meters of retail (including an ice rink);
190,000 square meters of office space and 220,000 square
meters of parking and support space. A central chilled
plant provides metered chilled water to retail tenants,
office spaces and public areas. District hot water supplies
heating and hot water to tenants. The building
utilizes double wall facades to control solar gain and
reuses waste heat from the atria and ice rink. Extensive
computer modeling was performed to predict internal
temperatures and to derive system strategies to effectively
heat and cool the building. A radiant floor in public
areas is used for heating and cooling. The project was
engineered to receive the equivalent of the U.S. Green
Building Council’s LEED® Silver Rating.
