result of the collapse of the World Trade Center . Cosentini

Provided advanced audiovisual engineering, including the
integration of Crestron and Panja technologies for this
prototype applied at various hotels throughout the country.

Provided telecommunications design of the cabling infrastructure,
telephone system, and “packet-page” and a portable
radio system; security design includes access control, access
management, CCTV; audiovisual design included convention
and meeting rooms.
Government / Transportation Projects
Security Command Center for
the United States Capitol Hill Complex
Washington, DC
Responsibilities included space planning, interior design,
and all display, control, and integrated electronic systems.
Used photo-realistic, 3D CADD techniques and animated fly-throughs
to design this facility for the police who are responsible
for physical security of the Capitol ( including nuclear,
biological and chemical warfare response as well as all
local, municipal, and national emergencies). A wide
array of cameras, sensors, detectors, computers, and advanced
systems were integrated into a state-of-the-art, fully digital,
inter-agency command center facility.
Kennedy Space Center - NASA Joint Communications Control
Center
Cape Canaveral, FL
This facility integrates all radio communications, fire
and life safety communications, access control, intrusion
detection, emergency communications and multiple sub-systems.
Cosentini provided ergonomics engineering and human
factors design, with 3D Renderings to visually depict our
design. Work included console design; space planning;
display and sound systems engineering; Graphical User Interface
touchscreen design to integrate different technical systems;
engineering for electronics and systems.
Staten Island Ferry Terminals,
Security Assessments and Recommendations
New York, NY
Assessments covered current physical security systems and
procedures, and identified risks and vulnerabilities inherent
within the operations and protocols; the Threat Analysis
followed traditional SANDIA Laboratory guidelines. Our work
included recommendations for improvements in the physical
security systems as well as the operations and protocols
to which the security staff abides.

Complex

Systems designed for this new inter-modal terminal building
include a public address system with “Sound Powered
Telephone” technology for improved audio quality despite
high background distortion. Also designed a new communications
room (housing all equipment, including emergency phone systems).

Authority (SDA) and the New Jersey Department of Education

Delivering a set of strategic recommendations for updating
Technology Guideline documents for both the SDA and DOE.
Bentley College, Smith Academic Technology Center
Waltham, MA
Designed telecommunications infrastructure, as well as systems
for the facility’s mock trading installation, computing
and networking lab, distance education classroom as well
as twenty-eight state-of-the-art classrooms wired to Bentley’s
computing network, Virtual Lab application server, and the
Internet.

Designed the telecommunications infrastructure that connects
the new complex to the existing campus; a new core network
supporting gigabit Ethernet, videoconferencing and video
over IP; redundant wireless links added to allow diversity
and increase network bandwidth; and the design of CCTV and
access control systems and article surveillance system.

Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer
Center

Designed the complete telecommunications infrastructure
for this cancer research laboratory as well as a wireless
network (for cellular phone calls and two-way radio
communications) throughout a remote support laboratory facility.
Bellevue Hospital – Ambulatory Care Facility
New York, NY
Provided telecommunications planning and system integration
for this new ambulatory center; designed integrated CCTV,
access control monitoring systems, card access systems and
a security console.
Bellevue Hospital – Office
of the Chief Medical Examiner DNA Laboratory
New York, NY
Designed the complete cabling infrastructure for voice and
data for this laboratory facility supporting forensic DNA
testing. All work was carefully coordinated with utility
companies for relocations of lines and entry points.
King’s County Hospital
– Phase I & Phase II
Brooklyn, NY
Provided a cabling infrastructure design to support voice,
video and data transmission for this major hospital’s
expansion. Security design includes CCTV systems, a monitoring
system/intrusion alarm system and an integrated lobby security
system that ties into the existing security systems and
links back to the campus command center in a separate building.
Designed a wireless Infant Security System that encompasses
the entire nursery floor.
