Adrian EnacheVice President, Director of Plumbing and Fire Protection Engineering

Adrian joined Cosentini Associates in 2001 and now leads a group of plumbing and fire protection engineers. His more than 20 years of project experience includes a variety of building types: residential, hotels, schools, mixed-use, retail, and high-rise office buildings.

In his time at Cosentini, Adrian has taken many challenging projects in New York, other American cities, and abroad in UAE, Mexico, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia. His portfolio includes 220 Central Park South and Frank Sinatra High School in New York, the Vdara Hotel in Las Vegas, Al Ain Hotel and Zoo in UAE, and Brickell City Center in Miami. Most of these projects involved advanced challenging engineering designs like solar energy reuse, greywater reuse, and LP gas systems.

Adrian holds a Bachelor’s in Building Services Engineering from the Technical University of Civil Engineering in Bucharest, Romania, from which he also obtained a Master’s in Hydraulic Engineering. He is a licensed professional engineer in New York, an ASPE-Certified Plumbing Design professional, and a member of the American Society of Plumbing Engineers. 

 

Helen Rubinstein, LEED AP, WELL AP

Helen is an experienced Sustainability Consultant that joined Cosentini Associates in 2010. She holds a Master of Science in Environmental Management Systems from Pratt Institute and a Bachelor of Science in Design & Environmental Analysis: Interior Design from Cornell University. She came to Cosentini with experience in architectural design, including sustainability research and code analysis.

Since joining Cosentini, Helen has lead numerous projects across the US and abroad through green building certifications and incentives, including mixed-use developments, core and shell office buildings, residential high-rises, hotels, libraries, corporate and institutional campuses, and commercial interior fit-outs. She specializes in finding the best sustainability strategy for complex projects, as well as shepherding projects and teams that are new to sustainability through the process of certification. She has also lead internal and external education around sustainability and developed tools to streamline Cosentini’s sustainability consulting practice.

Helen has volunteered with several industry organizations including the USGBC and Urban Green Council. She co-chairs the Cosentini Employee Wellness & Environmental Responsibility Committee. She has also been involved with mentorship programs with Tetra Tech, Pratt Institute, and Cornell University, and has been featured as a guest lecturer at Cornell.

Stefanos Kokotos, CEM, EBCP

Stefanos KokotosDirector of Commissioning

Mr. Kokotos joined Cosentini’s commissioning team in 2016 and now is the Director of the group.  He has more than 15 years of experience in testing and commissioning of mechanical systems including HVAC systems, plumbing and electrical equipment, steam distribution, steam trap testing, retro-commissioning for LL87 compliance (New York City, and LEED Fundamental and Enhanced commissioning. His experience also includes academic, corporate headquarters, office buildings, cultural, government, healthcare, hotels, interiors, mixed-use, and residential.

He has a Bachelor of Arts from St. John's University and is a member of the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE).

Naomi Freedman Coffin, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, NCARB, Jr IALD, IES, DLF

Naomi CoffinVice President, Director of Lighting

Ms. Coffin joined Cosentini with over 15 years of experience in the fields of architecture and lighting design. She has a versatile portfolio inclusive of healthcare, academics, museums and residential work. In 2017 she received the Award of Excellence from the NYC chapter of the IES for her work on the US Air Force Academy Center for Character & Leadership Development. Her deep understanding of both light and architecture lends a distinctive, refined quality to her work.

She has a Master of Fine Arts in Lighting Design from Parsons the New School for Design and a Bachelor of Architecture from Syracuse University.  She is also a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB), International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD), Illuminating Engineering Society (IES), and Designers Lighting Forum (DLF).

Roman Kuzmicki

19-Roman+KuzmickiDirector of Quality Control/Vice President

Roman joined Cosentini in 2005 and directs all Quality Assurance & Technical Standards efforts. He has more than twenty years of experience in a wide variety of project types including residential and mixed-use developments, healthcare facilities, office buildings, and mission-critical facilities. Roman leads a team of quality assurance specialists to conduct project reviews, research and disseminate information about new technologies to technical staff, and update the firm’s overall technical standards. 

Of particular note is his work on Shanghai Tower. He spent several months in Shanghai coordinating the electrical design and presenting design concepts to panels of Chinese experts. Reconciling the Chinese national codes, Shanghai municipal codes, and various international standards was a major project challenge.

He studied aerospace engineering at the Polytechnic Institute of New York and is a licensed professional engineer in New York State. He chairs the Electrical Code Committee of the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) of New York - Metropolitan Region, and is a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and the International Code Council (ICC). Roman’s teaching experience includes instructing engineering students in electrical design at New York University’s School of Continuing Education.
