Since joining Cosentini in 1982, Mike has been responsible for major business development efforts, particularly in the high-end residential market sector, including a number of recent supertall residential projects. He is also very active in staff hiring and professional development, and in critical internal financial operations which has led to increased profitability and higher quality professional engineering services.  Mike has successfully deployed new systems, products, and advanced building techniques in major building projects; these include prefabricated central plants, chilled-beam heating and cooling systems, underfloor air, solar energy, and other highly energy-efficient products.

During his career at Cosentini, Mike has managed millions of square feet for a wide range of projects, including mixed-use facilities, corporate headquarters hotels, residential developments, high-rise office buildings, and research laboratories. Prior to joining the firm, he was Director of the Passive and Hybrid Solar Energy Division at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). His commitment to energy conservation and sustainable design principles is rooted in his work there, where he directed the Passive and Hybrid Solar Energy Division’s more than 300 research, development, and demonstration projects for building applications; many of these outcomes became the basis for sustainable building elements in use today.

Mike received his Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from The Catholic University of America and his Master of Science in Engineering Management from The George Washington University.
